We are excited to welcome Neal to the Quarter Five family. Neal-Avery Barcelona Gutierrez was a founding member of Cristo Rey De La Salle High School in Oakland, California, the 34th member of the Cristo Rey Network that integrates rigorous college preparatory academics with professional work experience to prepare students to succeed in college and life. During his tenure, Neal served as the Client Relations Manager, and, later, the Associate Director of the Corporate Work Study Program and was responsible for managing the successful launch, renewal and expansion of dozens of partnerships with the San Francisco Bay Area business community employing hundreds of students. He also managed the summer bridge program equipping students with the latest technical and career-readiness skills to prepare them for a successful start to their careers.
In 2021, Neal completed his graduate certificate in Catholic Educational Leadership from the University of San Francisco and is a proud member of Queer Educators in Religious Schools (QEIRS), a national community of social justice activists based in San Francisco supported by the McGrath Institute for Jesuit Catholic Education.
As a Northern California native, Neal received his Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis. He complimented his undergraduate career by serving in multiple leadership roles to support the academic, socio-emotional, and physical well-being of the local Filipino community from first-generation college students to WWII veterans.
Neal serves as the inaugural Director of Operations and Client Engagement at Quarter Five and he is also pursuing his MBA as a Baumhart Scholar at Loyola University Chicago in the Quinlan School of Business.
